OPAX Safer Tunnels

In 2007, a total of almost 4000 significant train accidents were reported at EU-27 level with a total cost of more than 570 million Euros, not to mention the pain and suffering of the affected. When improving railway security, tunnel entrances are considered an important area, for which OPAX have a pioneering solution.

OPAX Safer Tunnels automatically monitors railway tunnel openings, detecting any unauthorized individuals. To reliably do so no matter the weather or lighting conditions, OPAX Safer Tunnels employ a combination of video content analysis with stereo analytics and radar. The stereo analytics is the worlds’ first system of its kind, seeing the cameras field of view in true 3D. The result is a highly scalable surveillance system with unmatched accuracy in classifying and positioning objects, radically improving security while minimizing the need of surveillance staff.
